MILWAUKEE, June 18, 2026—Elkay® today introduced the EZ Retrofit Frame™, a new carrier-style mounting solution engineered to eliminate many of the challenges that prevent facilities from replacing aging drinking fountains with modern filtered bottle filling stations.

“Many facilities want to replace aging drinking fountains, from legacy porcelain units to unfiltered models, with modern filtered bottle filling stations, but installation challenges can quickly transform a simple fixture upgrade into a costly renovation project,” said Tanner Mascareñas, Zurn Elkay Product Marketing Manager – Drinking Water. “Opening walls, relocating plumbing, cutting into concrete or masonry and addressing asbestos-containing materials can significantly increase labor costs, trigger costly mitigation measures and extend project timelines.”

Designed to remove many of these barriers, the EZ Retrofit Frame allows Elkay Pro Filtration™ models and other compatible Elkay bottle filling stations to be installed over existing rough-in connections with no wall modifications. By leveraging existing infrastructure, facilities can reduce installation complexity, lower project costs and accelerate drinking water upgrades with less disruption.

“Every facility has locations on the upgrade list that never seem to move forward because the installation complexity outweighs the project itself,” Mascareñas added. “The EZ Retrofit Frame was designed to simplify those difficult retrofit locations and make modern filtered water upgrades more achievable.”

The frame mounts directly to concrete block, brick or stud walls and uses existing drain and water supply connections to reduce labor and installation time. Factory-located mounting points further streamline installation. 

Compatible with a wide range of Elkay on-wall bottle filling stations, including Enhanced and Pro Filtration units, the EZ Retrofit Frame is a practical solution for modernizing drinking water access without the time, costs and disruption often associated with major renovation projects. Available in Midnight Black and Stainless Steel finishes, the EZ Retrofit Frame is engineered and manufactured in the United States.
