3M Purification Partners with Elkay to Provide Filtered Water to 3M Open Attendees
DOWNERS GROVE, IL, July 15, 2021 - 3M Purification and Elkay are teaming up to provide complimentary refillable water bottles and filtered water to attendees of the upcoming 3M Open PGA TOUR.
Elkay® will kick off their first year participating in the 3M Open by providing two Elkay ezH2O contactless water bottle filling stations, located at the main entrance.
The water in the Elkay water bottle filling stations will be filtered by the 3MFF100 under the sink water filtration system, which reduces particulate, chlorine taste and odor, cysts, lead and select VOCs to give attendees cleaner, clearer water.
But the benefits of this water filtration system extend beyond great tasting water. Every second in the United States, more than 1,500 disposable plastic water bottles are consumed. This may be convenient, but it’s not sustainable. The 3M water filtration system that will be used at the 3M Open was built with a 6,000-gallon capacity—that’s the equivalent of 45,000 plastic 16.9oz water bottles. By bottling their own water in a refillable bottle, attendees will contribute to the reduction of single use plastics.

Following the 3M Open, 3M Purification Inc. and Elkay will reinforce the event’s community-support theme of Golf That Matters by donating $10,000 and the event’s two contactless water bottle filling stations to Minneapolis YWCAs, helping to bring cleaner water to members of our community.
